As a special supplement to our usual summer festival, which we held successfully - despite prohibitive conditions – thanks to an outstanding effort in organization, the Rossini Opera Festival will propose an autumn supplement to take place between the 1st and the 29th November 2020.

The programme includes the postponed Final Concert of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”, which, for obvious reasons, could not be held in July as usual (on the 1st November at 8.30 p.m. at the Teatro Sperimentale); a selection from the Péchés de vieillesse performed by the pianist Alessandro Marangoni (on the 14th November at 8.30 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini); two such authentic rarities, never previously performed at the ROF, as the Messa di Milano and the Miserere (on the 15th November at 8.30 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini); three performances of Il barbiere di Siviglia in Pier Luigi Pizzi’s 2018 ROF production (on the 25th and 27th November at 8.00 p.m. and on the 29th November at 5.00 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini); lastly, two performances of the classic Il viaggio a Reims produced by Emilio Sagi, rehearsed by Elisabetta Courir, with the pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana 2020 (on the 26th and 28th November at 8.00 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini).

Il barbiere di Siviglia will be conducted by Michele Spotti with the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini and the Chorus of the Teatro Ventidio Basso (Chorus Master Giovanni Farina) and a cast consisting of Juan Francisco Gatell (Count Almaviva), Marco Filippo Romano (Bartolo), Aya Wakizono (Rosina), Iurii Samoilov (Figaro), Michele Pertusi (Basilio), Elena Zilio (Berta) and William Corrò (Fiorello/Officer).  Il viaggio a Reims will be conducted by Alessandro Cadario with the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini.  The Miserere and the Messa di Milano will be conducted by Ferdinando Sulla, with the Filarmonica Gioachino Rossini and the Chorus of the Teatro della Fortuna (Chorus Master Mirca Rosciani); the Miserere will be sung by Manuel Amati, Antonio Garés and Grigory Shkarupa; they will be joined by Svetlina Stoyanova in the Messa di Milano.

The booking opening date is Thursday 8 October. Reservations via email at: [email protected] Information: www.rossinioperafestival.it
