Concerto di Belcanto

The second and last of the series Concerti di Belcanto: Barbara Frittoli will sing on the 20th August at 4.00 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini, accompanied at the piano by Mzia Bakhtouridze.  The programme will contain music by G. The soprano Barbara Frittoli was born in Milan and studied for her diploma at the Milan Conservatorio under the guidance of Giovanna Canetti.  She won various international singing competitions and has sung in the leading opera houses of the world, including La Scala, Milan, the Metropolitan Opera, New York, the War Memorial Opera House, San Francisco, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, London, the Bastille, the Opéra and the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Deutsche Oper, Berlin, the National Theater of Munich, the Teatro Real, Madrid, the Liceu, Barcelona, the Opernhaus, Zürich, the Staatsoper, Vienna and the Salzburg Festival.
She has worked with such conductors as Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, James Levine, Sir Charles Mackerras, Gianandrea Noseda, Georges Prêtre, Daniele Gatti, Lorin Maazel, Sir Colin Davis, Antonio Pappano, Michael Tilson Thomas, Valery Gergiev, Barnard Haitink, Riccardo Chailly.
Formed in the Mozartian school, she also includes in her repertoire some bel canto, Verdi and Puccini rôles.  She is returning to the ROF thirty years after the last revival at Pesaro of Luca Ronconi’s  historic production of Il viaggio a Reims.
