ROF’s 2024 closes at the Teatro Rossini

Saturday 23 November at 7 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini will be the last date in 2024 for the Rossini Opera Festival. In the special year of Pesaro as the Italian Capital of Culture, the Festival has proposed a packed programme of initiatives spanning nine months, from 25 February to 23 November.

Tomorrow’s concert, entitled Tre strumenti per Rossini (Three instruments for Rossini), will feature the trio composed of Paola Perrucci (harp), Elisa Bognetti (natural horn) and Carlo Mazzoli (piano). The programme includes rare Rossini paraphrases for harp, natural horn and piano, in a special evening closely linked to the musical rediscovery activity carried out by the Rossini Opera Festival. Gioachino Rossini’s disruptive musical genius prompted almost all of his contemporary composers to transcribe arias from his operas for chamber ensembles or for solo instruments. Paraphrases for the harp, in duo with natural horn or piano, performed on period instruments, represent an as yet unexplored field. Discover more.
