The international activity of the Rossini Opera Festival continues: after the presentation of the 2024 programme in Berlin and New York, President Daniele Vimini and General Director Cristian Della Chiara were guests of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, with which the Festival has signed a framework cooperation agreement.
Daniele Vimini and Liao Changyong, President of the Conservatory, signed the document at the Music Castle of the Institute in the presence of Tiziana D'Angelo, Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Rocco Carlo Genchi, Vice-Consul, and Francesco D'Arelli, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute.

President Changyong said: "The Rossini Opera Festival, one of the most important opera festivals in Italy, has enjoyed an excellent international reputation since its inception in 1980. The city of Pesaro, home of the Rossini Opera Festival, has also been recognised as a UNESCO City of Music since 2017 and has been nominated as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2024. Today we are honoured to welcome Consul General D'Angelo and President Vimini to our Conservatory. This is no ordinary meeting, but a truly significant event for the world of culture, art and music. We will greatly appreciate any future support and suggestions from the Rossini Opera Festival and we are committed to making our Conservatory a privileged destination for national and international artists.

The following day, Cristian Della Chiara gave a lecture to the students of the Conservatory at the Lingling Campus entitled Rossini Opera Festival. A perfect history. "The students showed great interest in our Festival and its history," says Director Della Chiara. "The auditorium was full, and the lesson ended with a long session of questions and in-depth discussions, testimony to the bond created with one of China's most important cities, where the Rossini Opera Festival in China was held last May: The Magic and Mystery of Gioachino Rossini exhibition was held at the Middle Longhua Road Metropolitan Station".

President Vimini explains: On the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition last May, Director General Cristian Della Chiara and I were guests of the Conservatory's management. The meeting was an opportunity for a fruitful exchange of ideas and to outline possible forms of collaboration between the Festival and the prestigious Conservatory, the first musical training institute founded in China and still one of the most important in the country. This new meeting is the result of months of reflection and proposals that have led to the drafting of a collaboration agreement between the Festival and the Conservatory, which will allow our musical institutions to organise joint initiatives: masterclasses, concerts, events, conferences, lectures. In the first months of 2004, Intendant Palacio will hold the first masterclass and auditions".
