The ROF performs in Beijing
The Rossini Opera Festival will bring an abridged version in concert form of Il barbiere di Siviglia to Beijing. The event will be held on Tuesday 3 February at 7.30 pm in the Concert Hall of the Forbidden City. Noris Borgogelli, who arranged the piece for chamber orchestra, will be the narrator and conductor of the Soloists of the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini. The cast includes Manuel Amati (Count Almaviva), Marta Pluda (Rosina) and Matteo Mancini (Figaro). The performance is the highlight of the calendar of celebrations for the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and China. On the same day, an exhibition dedicated to the works of Andrea Palladio and another dedicated to the excavations of the city of Pompei will be inaugurated at the National Museum of China. Read more.
