Celebrations for Republic Day
Also in June, on the occasion of the Italian Republic Day, the Rossini Opera Festival will collaborate with bodies and institutions of the diplomatic network to spread knowledge of the music of Gioachino Rossini throughout the world.
On 3 June in Shanghai, as part of the celebrations organised by the Italian Consulate, an abridged version of The Barber of Seville will be performed by Manuel Amati, Marta Pluda and Matteo Mancini, alumni of the Accademia Rossiniana ‘Alberto Zedda’. Noris Borgogelli will conduct the Rossini Symphony Orchestra Quintet and act as narrator.
The Italian Cultural Institute of Athens, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy and Consulate, has organised three concerts in Athens and Thessaloniki (4-6 June). Chiara Tirotta, Vittoriana De Amicis, Pietro Adaini and Francesco Auriemma, also graduates of the Accademia Rossiniana ‘Alberto Zedda’, will perform. They will be accompanied on the piano by Alessandro Uva.
Finally, on 14 and 16 June, in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, former students of the Academy Martina Russomanno, Chiara Tirotta, Giuseppe Toia and Pietro Adaini, accompanied on the piano by Daniel Gonçalves, will be the protagonist of two concerts organised by the São Paulo Opera and the Friends of the Jacareí Opera, together with the Italian Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute of São Paulo.
