The second in the series of four Operatic Orchestral Concerts  programmed at the ROF 2022 will take place on the 17th August at 3.30 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini and will feature Nahuel Di Pierro.  Fabrizio Ruggero will conduct the Filarmonica G. Rossini and the Chorus of the Teatro della Fortuna (chorus director: Mirca Rosciani).  The programme, besides Edipo Coloneo, will include three unpublished Sinfonie of Rossini’s performed in their critical edition: from the Sinfonie giovanili  the Symphony in E flat major (Bologna, 1809); the Sinfonia secondo PA, appendix 1 to the Equivoco stravagante; the alternative Overture (according to eMIoa), Appendix 1 to Demetrio e Polibio.  Infor: 0721.3800294.

The bass Nahuel Di Pierro was born in Buenos Aires; he is a Mozart specialist and has sung Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, La Betulia liberata, Idomeneo, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte and Die Entführung aus dem Serail, appearing at the Paris Opéra, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salzburg, Zürich, Aix-en-Provence, the Edinburgh Festival, the Teatro Colón, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Palau de les Arts, Valencia, and at Nancy, Tel Aviv, Dessau, Santiago and in Luxembourg.  Among recent engagements are  Così fan tutte and Mozart’s Requiem at Valencia, le Comte Ory at Montecarlo, Luisa Miller in Rome, the Missa Defunctorum in Paris, Agrippina at Stockholm, Don Giovanni in Moscow, Mozart’s Requiem in tournée through Europe, Il Turco in Italia at Zürich, Ariane et Bacchus at Paris and Versailles, Platée in Paris. His future engagements include La gazza ladra, L’incoronazione di Poppea, Mozart’s Requiem and Il Turco in Italia.

The Rossini Opera Festival heard him as Assur in Semiramide in 2019 and this year he will be Le Gouverneur in Le Comte Ory, besides participating in the closing event of the ROF 2022: Tra rondò e tournedos.

The last in the series Operatic Orchestral Concerts will take place on the 18th August (featuring Michael Spyres) at 3.30 p.m., at the Teatro Rossini.
