After the remarkable success of the mini-tour to present the Rossini Opera Festival 2024 in Berlin and New York, cities of reference for American and European audiences, the Rossini Opera Festival will be in China in December to sign a cooperation protocol with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the country's most prestigious school of music and art. This is a welcome return for the Festival after the Rossini Opera Festival in China: The Magic and Mystery of Gioachino Rossini exhibition, which was held last summer in Shanghai's Middle Longhua Road subway station and was visited by hundreds of thousands of passengers every day.

The events in Berlin and New York, hosted by the Italian Ambassador in Berlin, Armando Varricchio, and the Italian Consul General in New York, Fabrizio Di Michele, were well attended by insiders, the press and simple enthusiasts. Both evenings were enriched by a concert given by Chiara Tirotta, Pietro Adaíni and Giuseppe Toia, talents trained at the Rossini Opera Festival's Accademia Rossiniana 'Alberto Zedda'. Excerpts from Cenerentola will be performed as part of the special project Cenerentola #25, funded by the Ministry of Culture. At the end of the event, the large and qualified audience had the opportunity to taste Doc Marche products, offered by Rossini Gourmet in collaboration with Food Brand Marche.

These are the words of Ambassador Armando Varricchio: "I am very happy that we have been able to create this important link between Pesaro and Berlin, on the notes of Maestro Gioacchino Rossini. We are building a great year of Italian culture in Germany, thanks to a unique combination of activities and events in the country, in which Italy will play a leading role in 2024. In this journey of Italian culture, creativity and innovative spirit that will touch the whole of Germany, we will also be delighted to draw inspiration from Rossini's genius and the 'creativity of doing' that characterises Pesaro, Italian Capital of Culture 2024".

The Consul general Fabrizio Di Michele said: “The Rossini Festival stands as a testament to Italy's enduring cultural heritage, showcasing the brilliance of one of our greatest composers.  By presenting this vibrant festival to the New Yorkers, the Consulate General of Italy in NY wishes to nurture the enduring love of the Americans for the Italian Opera, as well as to contribute to a cultural dialogue that transcends borders, connecting our Countries through the universal language of music.”

Festival President Daniele Vimini, Deputy Mayor of Pesaro, summed up the outcome of the tour: "Events like this are valuable in many ways: they create relationships, offer opportunities for mutual promotion and knowledge, and generate ideas and collaborations that mature over the years. The work carried out by the Festival since 2018, on the occasion of the Rossini150 celebrations, has spread knowledge of Rossini and his works throughout the world, thanks to the capillary activity of Italian cultural institutes and Italian diplomatic missions abroad. This path becomes even more important on the eve of the extraordinary opportunity of Pesaro2024".
