The ROF at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music

President Daniele Vimini and General Director Cristian Della Chiara, in Shanghai for the inauguration of the exhibition Rossini Opera Festival in China: The Magic and Mystery of Gioachino Rossini, were guests of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where they were welcomed by Vice-President Feng Lei and a delegation at the highest level made up of Chen Xiaoyi, Director of International Exchange Office; Han Bin, Director of Office of Development & Planning; Xie Miaomiao, Director of President’s Office, Director of Office of Academic Affairs; Ying Huang, Vice Director of Voice & Opera Department; Zhu Dandan, Vice Director of Division for Concerts and Artistic Projects; Lu Yan, Vice Director of International Exchange Office.

The meeting, which was also attended by Francesco D’Arelli, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Shanghai, was an opportunity for a fruitful exchange of ideas and to outline possible forms of collaboration between the Festival and the prestigious Conservatory, the first music education institution of higher learning founded in China and still one of the most important in the entire country. It now has 2,545 students and 528 teachers (29 from abroad), as well as 72 foreign students from 20 countries.
