The ROF 2026 programme

The Festival will offer a total of twenty-two performances from 11 to 23 August 2026. It will open at the Auditorium Scavolini with a new production of Le Siège de Corinthe, conducted by Carlo Rizzi and staged by Davide Livermore, who is now in his fifth year of working with the ROF. This will be followed at the Teatro Rossini by two revivals of operas that have made history at the event: L’occasione fa il ladro, which was first staged in 1987 by Jean-Pierre Ponnelle, one of the masters of Rossini direction. Next year it will be directed by Alessandro Bonato. The second is La scala di seta, which was first conceived in 2009 by Damiano Michieletto and was performed at the Royal Opera House in Muscat in 2019. This will be directed by Iván López Reynoso. The programme will also feature Il viaggio a Reims performed by the young people of the Accademia Rossiniana, as well as four Belcanto Concerts, two lyrical-symphonic concerts, and a final performance of the Stabat Mater, conducted by Domingo Hindoyan.
