The last Salon Rossini

The second edition of Salons Rossini will conclude at the Palazzo Ducale, Urbino with a concert entirely dedicated to Rossini’s ensemble numbers.  The series, part of the programme of the Festival Giovane 2023, is entrusted to the pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”, sponsored by the Fondazione Meuccia Severi.  The Salons Rossini were introduced last year as a complete novelty for the ROF with the double intent of offering regular visitors to the Festival the possibility of getting better acquainted with the environs of the town, and at the same time bringing our performances to new audiences in unusual and evocative surroundings.

On Tuesday 1st August at 9.00 p.m. at the Palazzo Ducale, Urbino, the young students, accompanied at the pianoforte by Aleksey Yakimov, will present the concert Questo è un nodo avviluppato consisting of Rossini’s ensemble numbers.

Sabrina Gárdez (soprano), Seray Pinar (mezzo-soprano), Omar Cepparolli (bass), Michele Galbiati (tenor), Eduardo Martinez (baritone) and Giuseppe Toia (baritone) will perform the First Act Finale from Il barbiere di Siviglia “Freddo ed immobile”; Miyoung Lee (soprano), Seray Pinar (mezzo-soprano), Saori Sugiyama (mezzo-soprano), Omar Cepparolli (bass), Michele Galbiati (tenore), Giacomo Nanni (baritone) will present the Act One Finale from La Cenerentola “Signora Altezza è in tavola…”; Vittoriana De Amicis (soprano), Seray Pinar, Saori Sugiyama, Paolo Nevi, Andrés Cascante, Alberto Comes and William Kyle will propose the Finale to Act One of L’Italiana in Algeri “Pria di dividerci da voi”; and lastly Maria Rita Combattelli, Seray Pinar, Eduardo Martinez, Valerio Morelli and Paolo Nevi will sing the Finale to Act One of Guillaume Tell “Tout change et grandit en ces lieux”.

The series has been organized in collaboration with the town councils of Gradara, Cagli, Mondavio, Carpegna and Urbino.  Entrance is free of charge.

The concert will be introduced by a brief listener’s guide by the musicologist Andrea Parissi and will be brought to an end by a moment of conviviality.  Members of the audience will receive a free token enabling them to collect a programme for the operas to be performed at the ROF 2023 at the entrance to the Vitrifrigo Arena.

In case of bad weather the concert will be held in the Salone del Trono.
