The 42nd ROF will close with the Gala Rossini
The 42nd ROF will close on the 22nd August with the Gala Rossini, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Pesaro début of Juan Diego Flórez who, when he was only just twenty-three, interpreted the exacting rôle of Corradino in Matilde di Shabran in 1996.
The President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella will be present at the concert. In order to ensure the largest posible number of people in the audience while conforming fully to the rules of anti-Covid security, the Gala Rossini will take place in Piazza del Popolo, the main square of the town, which was the scene of most of the concerts in last year’s Rossini Opera Festival. If the weather is bad, the concert will be given in the Vitrifrigo Arena.
The concert will be broadcast live streaming on the portal Raicultura.it and live radio on Rai Radio3. The Gala will also be streamed on the social media of the Rossini Opera Festival and, in Pesaro, will be screened in the Arena Curvone in Piazza Agide Fava. Michele Spotti will conduct the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale of the RAI and the Chorus of the Teatro Ventidio Basso. Juan Diego Flórez will be joined by Marina Monzò, Marta Pluda, Pietro Spagnoli, Sergey Romanovsky, Giorgio Caoduro, Jack Swanson, Matteo Roma, Manuel Amati, Nicolò Donini.
