Concerto di Belcanto of Nino Machaidze

The series of Concerti di Belcanto, eagerly awaited by Festival audiences, comes to an end.  The last concert, to take place on the 20th August at 4.00 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini, will be given by Nino Machaidze.  The programme includes music by Rossini, Massenet, Dvorák, Gounod, Puccini.

The soprano Nino Machaidze, born at Tbilisi (Georgia), graduated from the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, Milan, where she made her début as Marie in La fille du régiment in 2007.  She then made her first appearance at the Rome Opera in the same rôle, launching her international career.  In the summer of 2008 she made her début at the Salzburg Festival in a new production of Roméo et Juliette, beside Rolando Villazon.

Her career then took her to such prestigious international theatres as the Metropolitan, New York, the Bayerische Staatsoper of Munich, the Berlin Staatsoper, the Gran Teatro del Liceu, Barcelona, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Brussels, the Opéra national, Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, London, and the Los Angeles Opera.

Her future engagements include Il Turco in Italia at Liège, La traviata in Seville and Naples, Viva la mamma! at Madrid, I lombardi alla prima crociata at Monte Carlo, Les pêcheurs de perles at Naples and Armida at Marseilles.
