
Fondazione Rossini Meetings
The Fondazione Rossini meetings return once again this year. On 7, 8, 17 and 22 August, in the Sala della Repubblica at the Teatro Rossini, attendees will have the opportunity to explore several of the operas and productions featured in the Rossini Opera Festival, with insights provided by leading experts.
The first event, on Thursday 7 August at 11 a.m., will focus on Zelmira, the opening opera of the 46th edition of the Festival, staged from 10 August at the Scavolini Auditorium. The production is conducted by Giacomo Sagripanti and directed by Calixto Bieito. Taking part in the discussion will be Ilaria Narici, Scientific Director of the Fondazione Rossini, and musicologist Emilio Sala.
On Friday 8 August at 11 a.m., musicologist Matteo Giuggioli, introduced by Daniele Carnini, Editorial Director of the Fondazione Rossini, will present La cambiale di matrimonio. This production, staged at the Teatro Rossini from 11 August alongside the Soirées musicales, is conducted by Christopher Franklin and directed by Laurence Dale.
The series continues on Sunday 17 August at 12 noon with a conversation on the Cantatas for solo voice, chorus and orchestra. Ilaria Narici will introduce Marco Beghelli, Cecilia Nicolò and Eleonora Di Cintio, editors of the critical editions of Il pianto d’Armonia sulla morte d’Orfeo, La morte di Didone and Il pianto delle Muse in morte di Lord Byron.
The final meeting will take place on Friday 22 August at 11 a.m. Musicologist Alessandro Roccatagliati, introduced by Andrea Malnati, Scientific Associate of the Fondazione Rossini, will offer insights into the Messa per Rossini, the closing event of this year’s Festival, conducted by Donato Renzetti.
