Program
The project is divided into two sections: school and social.
School projects
School projects introduce the composer’s life and works to the new generations. The Crescendo per Rossini educational modules are integrated into school curricula through a program structured around one or more lessons, and are aimed at schools of all levels, from preschool to university.
Introductory Lessons
Introductory sessions designed to introduce the figure of Gioachino Rossini in his historical, musical, and cultural context. Students delve into the composer’s life and work, analyzing his style and his musical and operatic influence.
Guided Listening and Opera Analysis
A fundamental part of the program is the guided listening of an opera selected from the Rossini Opera Festival season. Students are guided in understanding the musical structure, dramatic narrative, and staging, encouraging a critical and conscious approach to opera.
Creative Workshops
Students explore the various elements that make up an opera through practical and interactive activities,: music, text, set design, costumes, and theatrical performance. The workshops encourage active and creative participation, allowing young people to personally experience the process of creating an opera performance and experiment with their own vocal expression.
Visits to Rossini’s Sites
The program includes guided tours of the city’s symbolic sites connected to Rossini’s life and legacy, including Rossini’s Birthplace, the National Rossini Museum, the Rossini Foundation Library, and the Rossini Theatre. These experiences offer a direct immersion into the composer’s history and the cultural context of his era.
Live Experience at the Rossini Opera Festival
During the Festival, students have the unique opportunity to attend a rehearsal of the opera studied during the year, thus concluding the educational/training program they followed.
University education
The program designed for the “Carlo Bo” University of Urbino is structured into two meetings, curated by Ernesto Palacio, Superintendent of the Rossini Opera Festival, and Daniele Carnini, Editorial Director of the Rossini Foundation.
Professional education
The goal is to provide teachers with a basic knowledge of Rossini’s main works and some critical tools for mindful listening. Furthermore, it aims to stimulate an interdisciplinary understanding of the stories and myths behind Rossini’s Operas through a variety of expressive languages, with particular attention to the musical one. The course is activate upon reaching a minimum of 15 registered teachers. To receive the certificate of attendance, participants are required to attend at least 75% of the online lessons and submit the final paper.
Two parallel courses are planned: the first, with an interdisciplinary historical, literary, sociological, and musical focus, places Rossini’s work within the broader context of European musical history; the second offers a ‘guided’ and conscious listening experience of Rossini’s masterpieces.
Community program
Program for Non-Profit Organizations
The projects in the social sector are developed along distinct paths, with the goal of bringing people closer to the world of opera in an inclusive, creative, and participatory way.
Crescendo Lab
A practical and creative workshop dedicated to reuse, recycling, and artistic expression.
Participants will try their hand at creating objects, figurines, and sketches inspired by the world of Gioachino Rossini. This will be done through an in-depth exploration of his life and by listening to significant pieces by the Pesaro composer. It’s a way to combine hands-on skills, fun, and culture in a learning experience that is accessible to everyone.
Crescendo Formation
A teaching program structured into lectures on the figure of Gioachino Rossini. Project experts will introduce users to the composer’s life and works and delve into the forms, languages, and mechanisms of opera. Participants will be able to gain a greater awareness when listening to the proposed repertoire. It’s an opportunity to get involved, personally experiment with one’s own vocal abilities, get to know oneself better, and open up to new forms of expression.

Prison Program
The training program held at the Pesaro Correctional Facility aims to provide the necessary tools for understanding and listening to melodrama. It is structured as a single meeting divided into two parts: the first focuses on gaining historical and artistic knowledge of the Pesaro composer, followed by a guided listening session of a Rossini opera and/or an introductory singing workshop.
For all projects within the social section, direct participation in the Rossini Opera Festival performances/concerts is planned. The show becomes the culminating moment of the program, transforming into an opportunity for personal and collective enrichment.
