On Sunday 13th August at 9.30 p.m. the third of the four gatherings in the new cycle of Concerti dal balcone [balcony concerts] will take place, organized by the Pesaro Town Council’s Assessorato alla Bellezza and by the Rossini Opera Festival after an idea by Marco Mencoboni, in collaboration with Sistema Museo, Amat and the Fondazione Rossini.
The balcony of the composer’s birthplace will be the scene of vocal performances by some of the best pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”, a study seminar on modern belcanto interpretation which is held in Pesaro every year as part of the Rossini Opera Festival.
The singers in this performance will be the sopranos Beatriz de Sousa and Giorgia Paci, the mezzo-soprano Martiniana Antonie and the tenor Emmanuel Faraldo, accompanied at the pianoforte by Elisa Cerri. Giorgia Pace will sing Lisetta’s Cavatina “Presto, dico, avanti, avanti” from La gazzetta; Beatriz de Sousa will offer Fiorilla’s Cavatina “Non si dà follia maggiore” from Il Turco in Italia; Martiniana Antonie and Emmanuel Faraldo will sing the duet for Cinderella and Ramiro “Un soave non so che” from La Cenerentola.
The last of the balcony concerts will take place on Tuesday 15th August at the usual time of 9.30 p.m.
