The Six String Quartets by the Accardo Quartet

Gioachino Rossini’s Le Sei sonate a quattro [Six string quartets] will be performed on Friday 15th August at 11.00 a.m. at the Teatro Rossini, in the critical edition recently published by the Fondazione Rossini, and edited by Matteo Giuggioli. The violinist Salvatore Accardo will lead a prestigious quartet including Laura Gorna (violin), Cecilia Radic (‘cello) and Franco Petracchi (double bass).

The evening before the concert, the Circolo della Stampa di Pesaro [Pesaro Press Club] will present Salvatore Accardo with the award “Il maestro”, given by the association to journalists, writers and communicators in the widest sense.  In the past the award has been assigned to such representatives of the world of culture as Riccardo Muti, Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Carla Fracci, Dario Fo and many others.
