On the eve of the opening of the Rossini National Museum and the 40th edition of the Rossini Opera Festival, the ROF played the leading role in the celebrations for Republic Day organized by the Italian representation at UNESCO in the headquarters of the Italian Institute of Culture in Paris.

Ambassador Massimo Riccardo welcomed the guests, in the presence of the Director of the Institute Fabio Gambaro and ambassadors from all over the world.

The Intendant Ernesto Palacio and the General Director Olivier Descotes, also representing Pesaro as Creative UNESCO City for Music, presented the Rossini Opera Festival 2019 and the calendar of events that will accompany it (among them, L'Italiana in Algeri for marionettes on 12, 13 and 14 July curated by the company Carlo Colla e Figli, and the celebrations for Rossini’s passing in mid-November with the Petite messe solennelle in the version by Paolo Fresu). The first appointment is Tuesday June 11, for the inauguration of the Museo Nazionale Rossini at Palazzo Montani Antaldi, within the framework of the annual Creative Cities Conference, scheduled in Fabriano from 10 to 15 June.

A recital of Rossini's arias by Manuel Amati accompanied on the piano by Elisa Cerri followed, and then a buffet curated by Alba as UNESCO Creative City for gastronomy and the International Fair of Alba Truffle.
