The P.R. manager of the Rossini Opera Festival, Adamo Lorenzetti, participated in the day of celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the death of Gioachino Rossini organized by the Italian Embassy in Beijing and the Italian Cultural Institute, which illustrated the double soul of musician and gourmet of the composer.
The day opened with the lecture "Gioachino Rossini, composer and master in the Olympus of the gourmet", held by Tommaso Lucchetti of the University of Parma and followed by a tasting of samples taken from Rossini's recipe books.
The concert "Rossini Opera Gala. Arias and Concertatas taken from the Works of Gioacchino Rossini " was held, thanks to the collaboration with the Rossini 150 Committee and the China National Center of Performing Art (NCPA), whose support has allowed the participation of great Italian, Chinese and international artists: among them Carlo Lepore, Marina Monzó, Juan Francisco Gatell.
The Italian Ambassador Ettore Sequi attended the event and said: "Italy is one of the most powerful nations in the cultural and musical field. Today's concert confirms that the excellent cooperation with the Chinese authorities in this important sector allows us to offer high-level events and make the public of this country appreciate the best of our artistic production. "
"Rossini was one of the greatest opera composers in history and throughout his life he has always combined his passion for music with that for gastronomy. For this reason we decided to dedicate an event to him with which we inaugurate the rich calendar of activities that we organized in connection with the Third Week of Italian Cuisine in China. "
