The last performance of La cambiale di matrimonio, to be preceded by the Cantata Giovanna d’Arco, will be projected live in Piazza del Popolo. Entrance is free of charge, though tickets must be booked in advance from the Booking Office of the Teatro Rossini (open from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 4.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
The performance will be staged on Thursday 20th August at 8.30 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini, which, because of the anti-Covid regulations, has been reduced to an audience capacity of only 180 seats. This is just one more reason why, as has now become the tradition at the ROF, the last performance should be given as a treat to our fellow citizens and to the many fans coming here from Italy and abroad, in order to broaden our audience and spread the awareness of Rossini’s music.
La cambiale di matrimonio is conducted by Dmitry Korchak at the head of the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini and with a cast consisting of Carlo Lepore (Tobia Mill), Giuliana Gianfaldoni (Fannì), Davide Giusti (Edoardo Milfort), Iurii Samoilov (Slook), Pablo Gálvez (Norton) and Martiniana Antonie (Clarina). The opera is staged by Laurence Dale, assisted by Gary McCann for scenery and costumes and by Ralph Kopp (lighting). The opera is a co-production with the Royal Opera House of Mascate, where it will be revived in January 2021. The evening will open with the Cantata Giovanna d’Arco, sung by Marianna Pizzolato.
