The Accademia Rossiniana opens on the 4th July

On Monday 4th July the Palazzo Bramante will witness the opening of the XXVIII edition of the Accademia Rossiniana, a permanent seminar dedicated to the study of the problems of modern bel canto interpretation directed by Alberto Zedda. The Accademia, following a well-established formula, offers pupils and auditors lessons in vocal interpretation, musicology and acting, lectures on apposite subjects, master classes.
The aspiring students come from 43 countries in the five continents: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, FYROM, Georgia, Germany, Greece, England, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Holland, Peru, Poland, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uruguay, The U.S.A. and Venezuela.

In addition to the lessons and master classes held by Alberto Zedda with the musical support of Anna Bigliardi, the programme envisages contributions from Gianfranco Mariotti, Sovrintendente of the Festival, from Ernesto Palacio, Aristic Director of the Festival, from the stage directors Damiano Michieletto and Elisabetta Courir, the musicologist and conductor Marco Mencoboni, the musicologists Federico Agostinelli, Daniele Carnini and Ilaria Narici, the physiotherapist Frank Musarra, the ear, nose and throat specialist Franco Fussi, and the master class by the tenor Juan Diego Flórez.

The course will end on Monday 18th July at 8.00 p.m., with the usual Final Concert, during which the pupils, accompanied at the piano by Anna Bigliardi, will sing music from Rossini operas.

Furthermore, some of the soloists from the Accademia Rossiniana will sing, on Sunday 24th July at 7.30 p.m., in a concert-event at Villa Montani (Ginestreto). The box-office takings from this concert will go to further the work of IOPRA – the Istituto Oncologico Pesarese “Raffaele Antoniello”. For further information: 0721.32230.

The young singers of the Accademia Rossiniana will take leading roles in Il viaggio a Reims, which will be staged at the Teatro Rossini on the 14th and 17th August, and will also sing in a Vocal concert on the 13thAugust at the Auditorium Pedrotti, in the framework of the Youth Festival of the XXXVII edition of the Rossini Opera Festival.
