The 33rd edition of the Accademia Rossiniana "Alberto Zedda", a permanent seminar on vocal and dramaturgical themes connected to Rossini's interpretation and the development of the Critical Edition, kicks off on Monday 5 July at 11.00 am at the Teatro Sperimentale. The Accademia Rossiniana, directed by the ROF Intendant Ernesto Palacio, offers lessons for vocal interpretation, musicology and acting, lectures on apposite subjects and master classes.
Alongside lessons and master classes held by Ernesto Palacio with the musical coordination of Rubén Sánchez-Vieco and the collaboration of Luca Canonici as vocal coach, the program includes speeches by the conductor Michele Mariotti, by the directors Pier Luigi Pizzi and Davide Livermore, by the director and singer Alfonso Antoniozzi, by the musicologists Federico Agostinelli and Daniele Carnini (in collaboration with the Fondazione Rossini), by the physiatrist Frank Musarra and by the ear, nose and throat specialist Franco Fussi.
At the end of the courses, on Monday 19 July at 8.00 pm at the Teatro Sperimentale, the usual Final Concert will be held. The students, accompanied at the piano by Elisa Cerri and Rubén Sánchez-Vieco, will perform pages from Rossini opera repertoire.
The young talents of the Accademia Rossiniana "Alberto Zedda" will also perform Il viaggio a Reims, which will be staged at the Teatro Rossini on 15th and 18th August in the framework of the 42nd edition of the Rossini Opera Festival.
