On Monday 19th July at 8.00 p.m. at the Teatro Sperimentale the traditional closing concert will bring the XXXIII Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda”, directed by ROF Intendant Ernesto Palacio, to an end.
The 2021 edition of the Accademia featured 19 fully effective pupils: the sopranos Pelageya Kurennaya (Russia), Haewon Lee (South Korea), Iolanda Massimo (Italy), Annya Pinto (Chile), Javiera Saavedra (Chile); the mezzo-sopranos Anna-Doris Capitelli (Germany); the tenors Theodore Browne (Germany), Valery Makarov (Russia), Alberto Robert (Messico), Chuan Wang (China); the baritones Pasquale Greco (Italy), Yuriy Hadzetskyy (Ukraine), Lorenzo Liberali (Italy), Ramiro Maturana (Chile), Francesco Samuele Venuti (Italy); the bass-baritone Ignas Melnikas (Lithuania); the basses Alejandro Baliñas (Spain) e Giorgi Manoshvili (Georgia). To these will be added the Irish soprano Jade Phoenix, who has followed the lessons of the Accademia as part of the collaboration with the Wexford Factory, educational program for young Irish singers or Irish residents organized by the Wexford Opera Festival.
The programme of the concert will feature pieces from L’Italiana in Algeri, Semiramide, L’occasione fa il ladro, Zelmira, Tancredi, La gazzetta, La cambiale di matrimonio, L’inganno felice, Il Turco in Italia, La gazza ladra, La Cenerentola, La scala di seta, Il signor Bruschino, Il viaggio a Reims, accompanied on the piano by Rubén Sánchez-Vieco, who is also the Accademia’s Coordinatore musicale, and Elisa Cerri.
Tickets (priced 10 euros each) will be on sale on the day of the concert at the Teatro Rossini at the following times: 10-12 a.m.; 4.00-6.30 p.m. and from 7.00 p.m. at Teatro Sperimentale (information: 0721.3800294).
The pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana will also take part in Il viaggio a Reims, which will be staged at the Teatro Rossini on the 15th and 18th August, all of these performances being part of the Festival Giovane of the XLII edition of the Rossini Opera Festival.
