Tancredi closes the XXXIII Rof

21 August 2012

The concert performance of Tancredi to be given on Thursday 23rd August at at 8.30 p.m.in the Teatro Rossini will be the closing event in the XXXIII Rossini Opera Festival. The opera, which will be given in its original version with the happy ending, as staged at the Fenice, Venice in February 1813, will also be video-projected in Piazza del Popolo under the aegis of the Pesaro Town Council with the Gruppo TeamSystem, Enel and Sound D-Light.

Alberto Zedda will conduct the Chorus and Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale, Bologna, with a brilliant trio of authentic Rossini specialists: Daniela Barcellona in the title rôle, which first brought her international success when she sang it for the ROF in 1999, Antonino Siragusa as Argirio and Mirco Palazzi as Orbazzano, supported by promising young singers such as the two pupils of the 2011 Accademia Rossiniana, Elena Tsallagova (as Amenaide) and Carmen Romeu (as Roggiero), and Chiara Amarù (who will be Isaura), who was much admired in Mosè in Egitto in 2011, and, this year, in Il signor Bruschino.
