Il ROF tra storia e memoria [the ROF through history and memory] reviews the long adventure, both professional and human, of the Studio Amati Bacciardi within the Rossini Opera Festival. The exhibition, which will be held in Palazzo Mosca, home of the Musei Civici of Pesaro, will be inaugurated on Saturday 22nd July at 11.30 a.m. and will close on Saturday 2nd September. The exhibition, realized in collaboration with the Assessorato alla Bellezza of the Pesaro Town Council and with Sistema Museo, will also have an appendix at Venturi Ottici (Via Cialdini, 37), which is supporting the event together with the association Venturi Spazio all’Arte.
This is not simply a show of photographs on the ROF and its productions, but is rather a visual and emotional review of thirty summers passed by Fulvia Amati, Silvano Bacciardi and their collaborators in the engine room of the Festival, in which they started off as errand boys and then, little by little, graduated into true minstrels of a glorious history through which they lived as an integral part of the ROF People in the places where, every year, it is reborn. The selected pictures give pride of place to the stage productions, that is, the part of the event that is visible to everybody, presented according to their own deeply personal and original point of view, without bothering too much about observing criteria relating to chronology or publicity.
Fulvia Amati and Silvano Bacciardi describe the exhibition thus: “Our involvement with the Rossini Opera Festival has turned our lives decisively in the direction of photography and the theatre. The possibility of living this adventure from the inside, and the freedom of movement that has always been granted us, have allowed us to explore, get to know and experiment with the limits of photographic representation of the stage and to define our own personal interpretation of them. And it is precisely on the stage that our project is focused, often with original types of photograph: pictures conceived in an unusual fashion when compared with others, that aim only to capture a glimpse of the passing moment. Images captured from unusual points of view, offering a personal reading and one that goes on developing through the evocative and narrative capacities typical of a close, persistent and constantly involved photographic observation.”
