ROF is back in Oman at the ROH Muscat

Third appointment of the partnership between Royal Opera House Muscat and Rossini Opera Festival, which includes the staging of the Rossini farces in the Muscat Theater, capital of Oman. After L’occasione fa il ladro (October 2017) and La scala di seta (March 2019), the Omani theatre will propose on 27 and 29 February L’inganno felice, staged in 1994 (and revived in 2015)  in Pesaro by Graham Vick. The tour is held in concurrence with the celebrations of the 228th birthday of Gioachino Rossini, born in Pesaro on February 29, 1792. The collaboration between ROH Muscat and ROF will continue this summer with the co-production of La cambiale di matrimonio, which will be staged at ROF 2020 and subsequently in Oman.

L’inganno felice will be revived by Vick himself, Diego Matheuz will be conducting the Filarmonica Gioachino Rossini along with a cast of former students of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda" including Laura Giordano (Isabella), Daniel Umbelino (Bertrando), Elcin Huseynov (Ormondo ), Omar Montanari (Tarabotto) and Carles Pachón (Batone).

The ROF tour is part of a broader educational project to which the Sultanate of Oman attaches great importance and which also includes a drama workshop for students of the Universities of Muscat organized by ROF and ROH Muscat.
