A record number of participants in the fifth edition of our educational project Crescendo per Rossini, promoted by the Rossini Opera Festival and by the Fondazione Rossini under the aegis of the Assessorato alla Pubblica Istruzione of the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, the Assessorato alla Bellezza of the Pesaro Town Council and the Ufficio Scolastico Regionale for the Marche region.

The 2015/2015 edition, concentrating on the study of La donna del lago, involves as many as 32 classes from 12 schools in the Province, with a total of some 800 young people. The initiative involves five Pesaro primary schools (the Don Milani, Don Bosco, Villa Ceccolini, Via Fermi and Cattabrighe  schools), three secondary schools from Pesaro (the Manzoni and Galilei schools) and Fermignano (the Bramante school) as well as four upper level secondary schools from Pesaro (the Liceo Classico, Linguistico e delle Scienze umane Mamiani and the Liceo Musicale Marconi) and Fano (the Liceo Scientifico Torelli and the Liceo Classico Nolfi).

The course is based on preparatory lessons and meetings with the staff of the Rossini Opera Festival and  the Teatro Rossini laboratories, with visits to the Fondazione Rossini library. In the month of July there will also be a laboratory of expressive reading for students of the upper level secondary schools, which will be based on Walter Scott’s poem on which the libretto of La donna del lago is founded, with a closing performance at the Musei Civici; students and teachers will also be able to attend, as listeners, some lessons of the Accademia Rossiniana, a seminar on the modern interpretation of Rossini. Students from the primary and secondary schools will, finally, be able to attend the ante-dress rehearsal of La donna del lago, to be staged at the Rossini Opera Festival 2015.
