On Thursday at 11.30 the first Talk

On Thursday 9th August, at 11.30 a.m., the first of our usual series of Incontri – talks – will be held in the Sala della Repubblica of the Teatro Rossini, organized specially for the Festival in collaboration with the Fondazione Rossini. The lecture, given by Ilaria Narici, director of the Foundation’s sector of critical editions, and Daniele Carnini, who together with Ilaria Narici has prepared the critical edition of Ciro in Babilonia, will be dedicated to that opera, which will inaugurate the XXXIII edition of the Rossini Opera Festival at the Teatro Rossini on Friday 10th at 8.00 p.m.

A further three talks will follow, all at 11.30 a.m. in the Sala della Repubblica: on Saturday 11th August Marco Beghelli will introduce listeners to Matilde di Shabran; on Sunday 12th Claudio Strinati will talk about Rossini’s relationship with France; finally, on Thursday 16th, Damien Colas will introduce Il viaggio a Reims.
