A fresh triumph for the XXXVI edition of the Rossini Opera Festival. The box office has registered more attendances and more income than last year’s edition: 15.810 audience members (+ 3.7%) and takings amounting to 993.000 euros (+ 5%). The percentage of foreign visitors is calculated as 64,5%. The first four places in the list of foreign customers go to France, Germany, England and Japan. There has been an impressive television coverage: besides the Rai news programmes, features were shot by RaiNews24, Tg5 and SkyTg24. For the first time an African company, the public television TeleMusik Senegal, has dealt with the Rossini Opera Festival. This broadcaster, which produces material for the whole African continent, is entirely dedicated to music and culture in general and sent a troupe to realize a piece about the Festival. The Bayerischer Staatsoper shot a video interview with Alex Esposito in connection with the next opera season in their theatre.
Beside the great names of international music criticism, Pesaro was also visited by representatives of some of the leading opera houses and musical institutions: the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris, the Theater an der Wien, the De Vlaamse Opera of Antwerp, the Semperoper, Dresden, Rossini in Wildbad, the Opera Nationale du Rhin, the Suntory Concert Hall, the De Nationale Opera of Amsterdam, the Teatro Nacional São Carlos, Lisbon, the Teatro Comunale, Bologna, the Teatro dell’Opera, Florence, the Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa, the Teatro San Carlo, Napoli, the Teatro Regio, Turin.
