New cooperation between the ROF and the territory

24 March 2017

New synergy between the Rossini Opera Festival and the territory. The Festival, which from its very beginning has been dedicated to giving back to the world the unknown and forgotten works of Rossini, has always kept its eyes fixed on the musical realities of the Region.

In fact, the repertory of the ROF 2017 foresees the participation of no fewer than four companies from the Marche region: the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini, the Filarmonica Gioachino Rossini and the Chorus of the Teatro della Fortuna M. Agostini,  which this year will be augmented by the Chorus of the Teatro Ventidio Basso.

The Chorus, which belongs to the Rete Lirica delle Marche, is conducted by Giovanni Farina, and together with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale of the Rai will take part in three productions: Le siege de Corinthe, the first performances ever of the critical edition, conducted by Roberto Abbado and staged by La Fura dela Baus, which will open the Festival on the 10th August; La pietra del paragone, a revival of Pier Luigi Pizzi’s ROF 2002 production, conducted by Daniele Rustioni, opening on the 11th August; and the Stabat Mater that will close the Festival on the 22nd August, again conducted by Daniele Rustioni.
