The latest offering in the Rossinimania series: on Saturday 18th August at 9.00 p.m. at the Auditorium Pedrotti Cabaret Rossini will be performed. In this show the stage director Filippo Crivelli and the musicologist Emilio Sala will chat about and interpret the world of the Péchés de vieillesse and of its amusing, but also desperate and mysterious wit, half-way between frivolity and profundity. All of this in a light-hearted manner, as befits Cabaret: a genre into which Filippo Crivelli has infused new sap, beginning this work in the ‘sixties, and now faithfully reproducing the black humour that we repeatedly find in the fourteen albums of the Péchés.
The staging will make use of the video ambience provided by Carlo Cinque’s Le Stazioni Contemporary Art, with artistic contributions from Emilio Isgrò and Antonio Trimani. The singers will be Anna Bonitatibus, Sofia Mechedlishvili, Daniele Antonangeli and Ruzil Gatin, as well as the singer, actor and opera producer Massimo Ranieri, making his ROF debut. At the piano, Antonio Ballista will accompany this sentimental voyage through the closing years of Gioachino Rossini’s personal and musical life.
Not only Rossini’s music will be performed, but also numbers by G. Nadaud, C. Weyse, I. Strauss, M.-F. Pillet-Will and others. The show will be video-projected live in Piazza del Popolo.
