The first of the main concert series on the programme of the Rossini Opera Festival 2018 will be given on Tuesday 14th July at 4.00 p.m. at the Teatro Rossini. Lisette Oropesa, enthusiastically applauded in the title role of Adina on the first night of the revival, will sing accompanied by the Filarmonica G. Rossini conducted by Christopher Franklin.
The soprano Lisette Oropesa won a diploma in 2008 at the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. At the Metropolitan she has sung over a hundred performances. Among the international engagements in her career we might mention Lucia di Lammermoor, Il Turco in Italia, Giulio Cesare, Le nozze di Figaro, Falstaff, Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
Among her recent and future engagements are La traviata at Philadelphia, Rigoletto at Madrid, Fauré’s Requiem at Santa Cecilia, Rome conducted by Antonio Pappano, Les Indes galantes, Die Entfüh rung aus dem Serail and Il Turco in Italia at Munich, La fille du regiment at Washington, Rigoletto in Rome, Amsterdam and Paris, Hamlet at Lausanne, Don Pasquale at the Glyndebourne Festival, Falstaff in Paris, Lucia di Lammermoor in London, Hãnsel und Gretel in New York, Orphée et Euridice and Rigoletto at Los Angeles, Lucia di Lammermoor at Madrid, l’elisir d’amore in Paris, Rigoletto in Rome, Rodelinda at Barcelona, Robert le Diable in Brussels, Les pêcheurs de perles at Santa Fe.
The programme includes numbers from Mozart’s Idomeneo, Verdi’s Un giorno di regno and I masnadieri, Meyerbeer’s Margherita d’Anjou and Robert le Diable, Bizet’s Les Pêcheurs de perles, Saint-Saëns’s Parysatis and Rossini’s Tancredi and Il Turco in Italia.
