The second of the two Concerti lirico-sinfonici (operatic symphony concerts) programmed by the ROF 2019 will be given on Friday 23rd August at 4.00 pm. at the Teatro Rossini. The Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini will be conducted by Alessandro Bonato, and the soloists are Anna Goryachova and Simone Alberghini, who have both often been applauded at the ROF in leading rôles.
Anna Goryachova sang Edoardo in Matilde di Shabran in 2012, then the following year she was Isabella in L’Italiana in Algeri and in 2015 she sang in the Stabat Mater. This year she will also appear in the Gala ROF XL.
Simone Alberghini was very young when he made his first appearance at the ROF in 1995 in Zelmira (Leucippo) and in the Messa di Gloria; then followed Otello (Elmiro) and Isabella (Hal) in 1998; in 1999 he sang in Tancredi (Orbazzano); in 2000 Le siège de Corinthe (Omar); in 2001 La donna del lago (Duglas); in 2003 Adelina (by P. Generali) as Don Simone; in 2006 Torvaldo e Dorliska (Ormondo); in 2011 La scala di seta (Blansac); in 2013 Guillaume Tell (Melcthal) and La donna del lago (Duglas); in 2015 La gazza ladra (Fabrizio Vingradito).
The programme includes music by Vincenzo Bellini (I puritani, Riccardo’s Recitative and Cavatina “Or dove fuggo io mai?...Ah! per sempre io ti perdei…”; I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Romeo’s Cavatina “Ascolta. Se Romeo t’uccise un figlio”; Norma (Overture), Gioachino Rossini (Il viaggio a Reims, Don Profondo’s Aria “Io! Medaglie incomparabili”; Tancredi, Tancredi’s Recitative and Aria “Tu che accendi questo core”, La gazza ladra, Duet for Ninetta and Fernando “Come frenar il pianto!” and Overture; Gaetano Donizetti (La favorite, Recitative and Air of Alphonse “Jardins de l’Alcazar….Léonor, viens”, and Léonore’s aria “O mon Fernand!”; Anna Bolena, Duet for Giovanna and Enrico “Fama! Sì, l’avrete”.
