Saturday, November 16th at 9pm at the Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, on the occasion of the celebrations for the anniversary of Gioachino Rossini’s passing, the Petite (jazz) messe solennelle will be performed for the first time. It is a reinterpretation of the composer's last masterpiece created for Rossini Opera Festival by a trio composed of some of the most important contemporary jazz musicians: Paolo Fresu (trumpet, flugelhorn, effects), Uri Caine (piano) and Daniele Di Bonaventura (bandoneon).

The project conceived during the celebrations of the 150th Rossini’s anniversary represents a new goal for the ROF: thanks to the new opportunities created by the anniversary, the Festival extends its activities throughout the year in order to offer more and more occasions for the audience to approach the figure and music of Gioachino Rossini. In addition, the idea of new interpretations  of Rossini’s music through new forms of expression took shape, a framework of which this project of contamination between classical and jazz music is also part.

Tickets (10 to 35 euros) are on sale online at and at the Teatro Rossini Ticket Office (Tel. 0721 387621/387620) from Wednesday to Saturday, from 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm and, on the day of the concert, from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00.
