First of the Incontri talks

On Friday 9th August at 11.00 a.m. the first of our series of Incontri – talks – will be held in the Sala della Repubblica of the Teatro Rossini, organized on behalf of the Festival by the Fondazione Rossini. The lecture will be an introduction to hearing Semiramide, the opera that will open the XXXX Rossini Opera Festival on Sunday 11th August at the Vitrifrigo Arena. It will be given by Ilaria Narici, Director of the Fondazione Rossini’s critical edition of the opera; Michele Mariotti who will conduct the opera to be performed by the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI and the Coro Ventidio Basso; Graham Vick, director of the opera.

Another three talks are planned, all in the Sala della Repubblica of the Teatro Rossini: on Saturday 10th August an Introduction to Demetrio e Polibio, with Daniele Carnini; on Sunday 11th August an Introduction to L'equivoco stravagante by Marco Beghelli; Carlo Rizzi, Moshe Leiser e Patrice Caurier; on Tuesday 13th August an Introduction to La riconoscenza, with Andrea Malnati.
