The autumn session of the Rossini Opera Festival continues by offering two opera productions from the 25th to the 29th November at the Teatro Rossini.
On Wednesday 25th and Friday 27th November at 8 p.m. and Sunday 29th November at 5 p.m. there will be performances of Il barbiere di Siviglia, created by Pier Luigi Pizzi for the 2018 ROF, with Michele Spotti conducting the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini and the Chorus of the Teatro Ventidio Basso (Chorus Master Giovanni Farina) and a cast consisting of Juan Francisco Gatell (Count Almaviva), Carlo Lepore (Bartolo), Aya Wakizono (Rosina), Iurii Samoilov (Figaro), Michele Pertusi (Basilio), Elena Zilio (Berta) and William Corrò (Fiorello/Officer).
These will be followed, on Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th November at 8 p.m. by the classic production by Emilio Sagi of Il viaggio a Reims, rehearsed by Matteo Anselmi, with Alessandro Cadario conducting the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini and a cast composed of pupils of the Accademia Rossiniana “Alberto Zedda” 2020 and some ex-pupils of previous years. The casts of the two performances include Lara Lagni (Corinna), Nutsa Zakaidze and Marta Pluda (Marchesa Melibea), Patricia Calvache (Contessa di Folleville), Michela Guarrera (Madama Cortese), Francisco Brito (Cavalier Belfiore), Matteo Roma (Conte di Libenskof), Nicola Ciancio (Lord Sidney), Gianni Giuga and Askàr Lashkin (Don Profondo), Lorenzo Grante (Barone di Trombonok), Alberto Bonifazio (Don Alvaro). Alan Starovoitov (Don Prudenzio), Christian Collia (Don Luigino / Zefirino / Gelsomino), Ekaterina Sidorenko (Delia), Marta Pluda and Nutsa Zakaidze (Maddalena), Sophia Ernzkyan (Modestina), Stefano Marchisio (Antonio).
All the performances will be broadcast in live streaming free of charge on the website (www.rossinioperafestival.it) and on the Festival social networks (Facebook and YouTube), as well as on www.italiafestival.tv, the web television of ItaliaFestival, a multidisciplinary association made up of several of the most prodigious Italian festivals of culture. Furthermore, the Barbiere di Siviglia on the 25th November will be broadcast on www.ansa.it, as part of the Ansa per la cultura undertaking.
