Applications for the Accademia come in from all over the world

The Accademia Rossiniana has reached 260 applications for the auditions to take part in the 2015 edition of the permanent seminar dedicated to study of the problems involved in modern bel canto interpretation, directed by Alberto Zedda. The Accademia, following its well-tried formula, offers students and listeners lessons in vocal interpretation and acting, lectures on various subjects, master classes and meetings with artists engaged for the operas presented in the Rossini Opera Festival.

The aspiring students come from 37 countries in the five continents: Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Esthonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, England, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, Holland, Peru, Poland, The Czech Republic, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the Ukraine and The U.S.A..

The Accademia Rossiniana 2015 will take place from the 6th to the 20th July. The subjects considered suitable will be chosen to participate in the closing concert of the Accademia, scheduled for the last day of the course; furthermore, a selected group of pupils will take part in performances of Il viaggio a Reims which will be staged on the 14th and 17th of August as part of the “Festival Giovane”, an integral part of the programme of the XXXVI Rossini Opera Festival.
