La XXVIII edizione del Rossini Opera Festival si svolgerà dall’8 al 21 agosto 2007. Il cartellone si caratterizza per la significativa presenza di celebrate stelle del Belcanto, a cui si affiancano, secondo la consolidata linea della manifestazione, i più sicuri talenti emergenti nel repertorio rossiniano. Il programma si incentra su tre titoli principali: due nuove produzioni, Otello e La gazza ladra, e la ripresa de Il Turco in Italia.
Otello viene proposto a distanza di 19 anni in un nuovo allestimento curato da Giancarlo Del Monaco, per la prima volta al Festival, con la collaudata direzione di Renato Palumbo. Lo spettacolo è coprodotto con il Teatro Regio di Torino e la Deutsche Oper di Berlino. La gazza ladra, il titolo che ha dato avvio alla manifestazione pesarese nel 1980, torna in scena, dopo l’ultima produzione del 1989, in un nuovo allestimento affidato al giovane talentuoso Damiano Michieletto, per la prestigiosa bacchetta di Lu Jia, anch’egli esordiente al Festival. Lo spettacolo nasce in coproduzione con la Fondazione Arena di Verona.
Il Turco in Italia viene riproposto con un cast interamente nuovo, come consuetudine del Festival, nel fortunato allestimento del 2002 curato da Guido de Monticelli. Dirigerà Antonello Allemandi, un gradito ritorno dopo il successo ottenuto ne La Gazzetta. Affiancano le produzioni liriche due grandi serate oratoriali: la prima dedicata al dittico Edipo a Colono/Le nozze di Teti, e di Peleo, con la direzione di Gustav Kuhn; la seconda alla Petite Messe Solennelle nella versione orchestrale, con il ritorno di Daniele Gatti, dopo il trionfo del Barbiere di Siviglia.
Completeranno il cartellone i Concerti di Belcanto, tradizionale momento di incontro ravvicinato tra i cantanti più popolari e il loro pubblico, e il Festival Giovane, che con il Viaggio a Reims conclude ogni anno l’Accademia Rossiniana, inesauribile vivaio delle voci del futuro.


Program presentation

The 28th edition of the Rossini Opera Festival will take place from August 8th to August 21st, 2007. The playbill is characterized by a large participation of Belcanto stars, along with interesting emerging talents of Rossini’s repertoire, in line with the ROF long time philosophy. The program focuses on three main titles: two new productions, Otello and La gazza ladra, and the resumed staging of Il Turco in Italia.
Otello is returning after 19 years with a new staging by Giancarlo Del Monaco (for the first time at the ROF), under the proven conduction of Renato Palumbo. The opera is being co-produced with the Teatro Regio of Tourin and the Deutsche Oper of Berlin.
La gazza ladra, which opened the Pesaro Festival in 1980, is coming back, after the 1989 production, with a new staging by young and talented Damiano Michieletto, under the prestigious conduction of Lu Jia, who is also making his debut at the Festival. The opera is co-produced with Fondazione Arena of Verona.
Il Turco in Italia will be performed again in the 2002 successful staging by Guido de Monticelli, but with an entirely new cast, in the tradition of the Festival’s policy. The conductor will be Antonello Allemandi, who is coming back after the successful conduction of La gazzetta.
The operas will be backed up by two big Oratorio performances: the first one is dedicated to the diptych Edipo a Colono/Le nozze di Teti, e di Peleo, under the conduction of Gustav Kuhn; the second one is Petite Messe Solennelle in the orchestra version, with the return of Daniele Gatti, after his triumph in Barbiere di Siviglia.
The playbill is completed by the Belcanto concerts, a traditional moment of close contact between the most popular singers and the audience, and by the Youth Festival, which presents Viaggio a Reims every year to conclude the Accademia Rossiniana, endless training ground for new singers.


Einführung ins Programm

Die XXVIII Ausgabe des Rossini Opera Festival findet vom 8. bis 21. August 2007 statt. Der Spielplan sieht die Teilnahme bekannter Belcantosänger vor und wie gewohnt auch die, der begabtesten Nachwuchstalente des Rossini Repertoires. Die Höhepunkte des Programmes bestehen aus den zwei Neuinszenierungen Otello und La gazza ladra und der Wiederaufführung Il Turco in Italia.
Otello als Neuinszenierung von Giancarlo Del Monaco, der beim Festival debütiert, wird nach 19 Jahren wieder in den Spielplan aufgenommen. Am Dirigentenpult steht Renato Palumbo. Die Aufführung wird mit dem Teatro Regio di Torino und der Deutschen Oper Berlin coproduziert.
La gazza ladra, der Operntitel der Pesaro’s Veranstaltung den Auftakt gab, kehrt nach seiner letzten Aufführung von 1989 mit einer Neuinszenierung vom jungen und talentierten Damiano Michieletto auf die Bühne zurück. Unterstützt wird dieser vom hochgeschätzten Dirigenten Lu Jia, der ebenfalls sein Debüt beim Festival feiern kann. Die Aufführung ensteht als Coproduktion in Zusammenarbeit mit der Fondazione Arena di Verona.
Il Turco in Italia in der viel gelobten Inszenierung von 2002 unter der Regie von Guido de Monticelli, wird mit einer vollständig neuen Besetzung dargeboten. Die Oper wird von Antonello Allemandi dirigiert, der mit dem nach La Gazzetta erzielten Erfolg nach Pesaro zurückkehrt. Das Opernprogramm wird durch zwei große Konzerte abgerundet. Am 17. August wird der Zweiteiler Edipo a Colono / Le nozze di Teti, e di Peleo von Gustav Kuhn dirigiert. Am darauffolgenden Nachmittag wird die Petit Messe Solennelle in Orchesterversion von Daniele Gatti aufgeführt, der nach dem Triumph vom Barbiere di Siviglia wiederkehrt. Vervollständigt wird der Spielplan mit den Concerti di Belcanto, die als wahre Momente der Zusammenkunft zwischen den beliebtesten Sängern und ihrem Publikum erlebt werden können. Auch findet wieder das Festival Giovane statt, das alljährlich mit Il viaggio a Reims die Accademia Rossiniana ausklingen läßt, aus der unerschöpflich die Stimmen der Zukunft hervorgehen.
